What is a domain name?
A domain name in its simplest form is just an Internet Website address. Just as your house or apartment has its own unique identifying address for the post office, so does each and every Website in existence..
Can I transfer my existing domain to you?
Our domain transfer procedure is quite simple. Before anything make sure that your email address is listed as a contact for the domain name. In addition make sure the domain is not locked. Then click our contact us page and submit a ticket to us advising that you'd like to transfer your domain for us to manage. At this point, we will initiate the transfer. Your current domain registrar will send a confirmation email to the email address listed as a contact for the domain. You must click on this and agree to the transfer or it will fail. After you confirm, your domain will be transferred to us for management. You are still the owner of the domain, in addition, you don't have to go to multiple locations to manage something that should be done all in one spot. Domain and hosting all done together, from one provider.
Thats just another one of the ways that we help make things easier for you.
How long before I can use my new domain?
Normally once a domain is registered it takes anywhere from 24-48 hours for the domain to resolve to a server. Because we are not your average company, our domains resolve to our servers instantly. By the time you receive the confirmation email the domain should be resolved to our servers and ready for your use.
Can I renew my existing domain with you?
If you wish to renew your domain with us, you will need to first transfer the domain to us.
If I don't want to transfer my domain to you, can I still host my domain here?
Yes. Most people choose to transfer their domains to use because billing and management are handled by one company, although if you don't wish to transfer your domain, you can always use our hosting services by simply changing your dns servers to the ones we provide you at signup.
Do you offer ID Protection with your domain names?
Spam, Phishing and Social engineering are all big concerns for people who own a domain name because it makes your private information available by a whois lookup. This is not something specific to our domain registrations, it's simply the nature of the internet and the way things are done. To combat the problem, we offer ID Protect. This hides your personal information when a whois query is done. This not only protects your privacy, but makes you that much safer without your name and address floating around on the internet.
What registrar do you use for the domain registrations?
We've chosen to partner with eNom, Inc. because eNom is committed to providing excellent Internet domain name services at competitive prices. eNom is an ICANN accredited registrar. They have been in business since 1997, specializing in domain name registration and related services. |
